Mallorca
Mallorca (also known as Majorca) lies approximately 90 miles south of Barcelona in the Western Mediterranean.
Mallorca offers a widely varied cruising destination for a sailing or charter holiday. The north is rugged and mountainous, with steep cliffs rising hundreds of metres out of the sea, a paradise for birdwatchers.
Away from the archetypal tourist beaches around Palma, it is possible to find attractive, quiet calas, particularly in the north-east around the large bays of Alcudia and Pollensa.
Throughout this website, sailing destinations are divided into:
- Harbours where the port is part of the town, such as Ratjada or Andraitx
- Marinas which are purpose built such as Bonaire
- Anchorages with little or no facilities like Cala Es Caló
Highlights of Mallorca include Soller, Ratjada, Cala Mitjana and Dragonera.
