Captain's Blog

Palma is the capital of Mallorca, and a major commercial port. As you would expect, it has berths for several thousand yachts of all sizes. However, it is also very popular with sailors from Spain, the Balearics and further afield, and it is a prime choice for charterers due to its proximity to the airport.

I have yet to spend much time in Palma, as I prefer the quieter ports in the north-east of Mallorca. Palma does offer fabulous facilities, including many restaurants.

Palma's greatest visitor attraction is the Gothic cathedral with its soaring towers and buttresses.
